The Greater Accra Regional Hospital(GARH) has observed this year’s WORLD PREMATURITY DAY with a call for Zero separation between mother and baby. The theme for this year’s celebration was ZERO SEPERATION, ACT NOW.
All over the world, the theme was meant to help improve issues relating to preterm babies and families, especially to infuse babies born too soon and parents together.Parents were educated on their rights to have unrestricted access to their babies in the hospital. The Parents were also advised to get in touch with their babies always as this will help the baby to
- Identity the parent
- Reduce death
- Help in controlling babies breathing and their body temperature.
The Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Mrs Charity Sarpong who chaired the occasion congratulated the various speakers for their tremendous participation and contributions to this year’s celebration. She praised the whole team and encouraged both the health workers and parents to work hand in hand to make all preterm babies stay alive.
