Staff Honoured for their Outstanding Dedication to Patient-Cantered Care
In a vibrant display of appreciation and dedication to service, the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, joined organizations across the globe in celebrating Customer Care Week.
With this year’s theme, “Treating Patients as Valued Customers and Not Just Medical Cases”, the Hospital held several events that emphasized the importance of quality care, empathy, and communication across all touchpoints.
A key highlight of the celebrations was the recognition and awarding of outstanding staff who have consistently gone above and beyond in delivering compassionate and professional care.
Among those honoured were team members from various departments, including:
ENT Unit – For consistently offering clear communication, patience, and expert care in handling sensitive cases.
Paediatrics Unit – Recognized for creating a warm and reassuring environment for young patients and their families.
Labour Ward – Applauded for providing unwavering support to mothers during one of the most critical moments in their lives.
Public Health Unit – Celebrated for their tireless community outreach, preventive care efforts, and responsiveness to public health needs.
“These awards are a testament to the incredible work our teams do every day,” said The Ag. Medical Director, Dr. Issa Adam-Zakariah “We are proud to honour their commitment to excellence and the difference they make in the lives of our patients.”
Speaking during the award ceremony, Dr. Yaa Dufoa Brako, Head of Quality and Patient Safety Department, emphasized the importance of continuously improving patient interactions.
Beyond the awards, the week featured customer feedback forums, staff appreciation treats, motivational talks, and training sessions aimed at enhancing service delivery. Patients and visitors were also engaged through thank-you cards, giveaways, and a wall of appreciation where they shared kind words and positive experiences.
