MTN Ghana, a mobile telecommunication giant, has donated 3000 packs of N95 nose masks to GARH to aid in the fight against COVID-19. Mr. Sam Koranteng, Corporate Services Executive who presented the items on behalf of MTN, stated that the company has initiated a campaign programmed dubbed “wearitforme”, a behavioral change campaign targeted at raising the awareness level of the public to wear nose masks with the view of curtailing the spread of COVID-19. He added that there is the need to encourage the general public to always put on the nose masks to help curb the pandemic.
The Medical Director of GARH, Dr. Emmanuel Srofenyoh, for his part, expressed profound gratitude to the company for the gesture. He gave the assurance that, the items will be put to good use for the safety and protection of the hard working staff. According to Dr. Srofenyoh, the masks will go a long way to boost the morale of staff as well as save the hospital some cost. He explained further that the hospital provides several COVID-19 related services at the Emergency Department, the Screening centre, the Holding centre for suspected cases, and the COVID-19 treatment centre. For this reason, the usage of the PPEs is very high. He added that even though the hospital receives supplies from the Government through the Ministry of Health more is still needed. He called on corporate organizations to continue to support the hospital.
